From April 2026, the government’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative will extend to include sole traders with income over £50,000. Those earning over £30,000 will follow from April 2027.
This means that affected sole traders will be required to keep digital financial records and submit quarterly updates to HMRC using approved accounting software.
At Vicky Anderson Business Services, we’re here to help you get ready for these changes well in advance. We can guide you through setting up compliant digital record-keeping systems, choosing the right software, and ensuring you stay fully up to date with all MTD requirements — helping you avoid any penalties and making the transition as smooth as possible.
How we can support you:

- Setup and training for digital record-keeping
- Ongoing support with quarterly submissions to HMRC
- Complete management of your accounts if preferred
Don’t wait until the deadline — let us help you get prepared now, giving you more control over your finances and peace of mind for the future.
