Meet the team | Vicky Anderson, Managing Director & Principal
Vicky started the business as a sole trader over 30 years ago. Employing her first member of staff when her daughter arrived over 25 years ago.
Starting as a Farm secretary and becoming self employed working from the under stairs cupboard to assisting large business clients in all aspects of their business. To converting a barn on the home farm to work from and then introducing the training business in 2006.
Vicky has grown the business on a way that has meant it is resilient and works with the current trends and increased workload in an appropriate way.
As Managing Director and Principle of the business Vicky manages all sectors of the business from the Training, Payroll Bureau and Bookkeeping alongside offering consultancy services. She has a wealth of knowledge within all aspects of accounts and business particularly specialising in the rural and farming sectors. She has worked with many of the current clients in excess of 20 years and assisted businesses throughout pandemics such as foot & mouth and Covid and works closely with advisors and bank managers.
Vicky still visits regular clients reaching from Northumberland to South and West Yorkshire, which ensures she is in touch with the grass roots of the business.
She works with all programs used in the business and has been a computer trainer since 1995 working with companies such as Farmplan and other IT systems and is a qualified adult trainer.
Vicky as you can imagine is a very busy person but enjoys breeding and showing her children’s riding ponies and always enjoys a good hot holiday to take a break every year.
She also has a couple of spaniels and has a very cute parson jack russell, which means a good dog walk is always part of her daily routine.
Matthew started working within Vicky Anderson Ltd in 2019 as our in-house accountant, after meeting Vicky and realising that we could work together to offer the clients a much better accountancy service, and Vicky was keen to offer a more complete service to the clients.
He has been completing year end accounts and Tax Returns for our clients ever since. His broad spectrum of knowledge allows him to discuss a client’s business needs and advise on HMRC rules and guidelines, ensuring that the client’s accounts show a fair picture of their business, while enabling them to develop and grow and be as tax efficient as possible. He works closely with various Tax advisors and ensures that all our clients have the best service.
Matthew is qualified with ICB and AAT and lives with his wife and children, he now works with his grandson who is working as an apprentice accountant alongside Matthew. Matthew enjoys nothing more than researching into alternative ways we can assist clients in their tax issues or making their businesses more profitable and resilient.
Matthew is a valued member of the Team and is always available to help with queries.
Gill started with Vicky Anderson Ltd in 2010 when there were only 3 members to the Team. She had first met Vicky when she had trained her on her own accounts program some years previously. She had not intended on applying for a role in the business but Vicky saw her talents and she has been a huge asset to the business ever since.
Gill has an amazing memory and can recall people places and postcodes better than anyone we know- an excellent skill judging by the number of farming families we work with.
Gill’s role encompasses operating and overseeing the payroll bureau, including working with a number of clients completing bookkeeping, VAT and administration both in our office and out at the clients place of business. She works with some clients who we have worked with for more than 20 years and ensures that all clients be they old or new get the same care and attention.
Gill has several grandchildren and dogs that keep her busy at home and enjoys nothing more than spending time with them.
Sarah started with Vicky Anderson Ltd in 2019 and works with a number of clients completing bookkeeping and payroll and administration. Sarah mainly works within the business services, but is equally at home with organising training and meeting clients. Sarah has now become an expert on our Quickbooks accounts programme, and regularly works with Farm Plan Business Manager and Excel. The clients Sarah works with love her ability and quick wit.
Sarah owns horses and rides in her spare time, and is also an accomplished side saddle rider, (including jumping side saddle)! She is also a sheep farmers daughter and so often helps out with the sheep and at lambing time. Sarah also has a number of dogs including some very cute dachshunds.
Helena started with Vicky Anderson Ltd in 2023 as an Accounts and Payroll Executive and works in the business services business with several clients completing bookkeeping & payroll.
Helena has recently become a QuickBooks ‘Pro-Advisor’ and regularly works with Farmplan Business Manager and is a whizz on Excel. Helena is currently working towards her AAT Level 4, with the intention of preparing year end accounts and tax returns in the near future.
Helena has a young daughter who keeps her busy, as well as a horse which she regularly show jumps all over the country. She is also a dairy farmers daughter & her partner has a flock of sheep and so she often helps with all sorts of jobs at home.
